Performance & Specs

The 2026 Lexus ES is built on a redesigned GA-K platform that was engineered specifically to support hybrid and battery-electric powertrains. This foundation gives the ES remarkable rigidity, which in turn enhances ride comfort, steering precision, and overall quietness. The familiar ES 350h hybrid returns with a refined 2.5-liter hybrid system paired with an integrated eAxle. Its design suppresses vibrations and maximizes efficiency, while for the first time offering both front- and all-wheel drive so that drivers can enjoy confident handling in varied conditions.

Electrification takes center stage with the debut of the ES 350e and ES 500e, the first all-electric ES models. The ES 350e delivers an estimated 300 miles of range with its underfloor battery and front-wheel-drive configuration, while the more powerful ES 500e integrates DIRECT4 all-wheel drive, distributing torque seamlessly between the front and rear wheels for enhanced stability and control. That model achieves an estimated 250 miles of range. Both BEVs are equipped with an 11-kW onboard AC charger and a NACS charging port compatible with DC fast charging, allowing the battery to move from 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes under optimal conditions.

Capability

Beyond the refinement of its ride, the 2026 ES offers handling that is sharper and more intuitive than ever before. A new multi-link rear suspension works in harmony with the MacPherson strut front system to deliver both agility and composure. Hybrid models emphasize a quiet, smooth, and fuel-conscious drive, while the BEV lineup leverages instant torque and low center of gravity to provide stable, responsive acceleration. In the ES 500e, DIRECT4 all-wheel drive continuously adapts torque delivery to ensure optimal grip and balance, giving Riverside drivers an experience that blends efficiency with athleticism.

Interior

Inside, Lexus has designed the ES to feel both expansive and welcoming. The longer body and wheelbase create a cabin with more room for every occupant, while slimmer seats and lowered window lines increase the sense of openness. Comfort is elevated further with the introduction of an Executive Package on Luxury models, which includes reclining rear seats with a passenger-side ottoman, massaging functionality, and heated and ventilated rear outboard seats. Bamboo Layering and Synthetic Leather Embossing introduce textures that pair beautifully with Thematic Ambient Illumination, creating an atmosphere that is at once modern and serene.
The driver's cockpit is arranged around Lexus' Tazuna design philosophy, featuring a low-profile meter hood and a uniquely shaped 12.3-inch display for seamless visibility. The centerpiece of the interior is the updated Lexus Interface system, operated through a new 14-inch touchscreen.

With details such as Mark Levinson® Surround Sound and carefully chosen suede and leather materials, the ES interior stands as an inviting blend of innovation and craftsmanship.

Exterior

The design language of the 2026 ES, known as Clean Tech x Elegance, builds upon the LF-ZC concept vehicle and expresses a flowing, sculptural character. The trunkless silhouette and tapered rear profile create a sleek, modern impression, while precise wheel placement enhances its wide, low stance.

At the front, a distinctive spindle body integrates into the hood and bumper corners, forming a grounded, confident presence. Hybrid models add a slim upper grille to support cooling, while the side profile is defined by taut lines and aerodynamically sculpted contours.
Lighting serves as a new design signature. Twin L-Signature Lamps at the front create a unique visual identity with inward-facing daytime running lights and outward-facing turn indicators. At the rear, a continuous L-Signature Lamp integrates seamlessly with the illuminated Lexus logo, reinforcing brand recognition and widening the sedan's stance.

To further personalize the exterior, Lexus introduces Wavelength, a Lexus-first paint option for the 2026 ES.

Technology & Safety

Technology in the new ES is designed not only for convenience but also for peace of mind. The latest Lexus Interface system, paired with the 14-inch touchscreen, introduces split-screen capability, a more intuitive home button, and refined navigation integrated into the gauge cluster. Faster processing makes the native voice assistant even more practical for everyday use.

Safety reaches new heights with the debut of Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, the most advanced suite of active safety features offered by the brand to date. Enhanced sensors and detection capabilities improve performance in scenarios involving pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles at intersections. Features such as Lane Tracing Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with curve speed management, and Road Sign Assist are joined by Intelligent High Beams for improved visibility. These systems create a network of support that makes the ES one of the safest sedans in its class.
